• 1988 : Beginning of the Group's operations in Benin with the birth of Financial Bank Benin.
• 1992 : Opening of Financial Bank Chad.
• 2002 : Beginning of Financial Bank Gabon operations with the acquisition of Interfi Banking Corporation Gabon (IBC) / Acquisition of Union Internationale de Banques en Guinée (IUBG), a subsdiary of Crédit Lyonnais.
• 2003 : Beginning of the Group's operations in Togo, with the acquisition of Société Nationale d’Investissement (SNI).
• 2008 : Emerging Capital Partners (ECP) acquired a minority stake in Financial Bank Group. This is the beginning of the formation of the the future Orabank Group.
• 2009 : The Group acquired a minority stake in BACIM BANK, a mauritanian bank bought by ECP in 2008 / On March 20, 2009, ECP bought 100% of the holding company of Financial Bank Group / The group has been focusing on the banking business, selling its stakes in microfinance to Finadev Africa Holding LLC majority owned by the investment fund ECP Africa Fund III PCC.
• 2011 : The subsidiaries of Financial Bank Group in Benin, Guinea, Chad and Gabon changed their names to Orabank. The holding company became Oragroup SA.
• 2012 : The subsidiaries in Togo and Mauritania changed their names and became Orabank. / Oragroup SA took a majority stake in Banque Togolaise de Développement (BTD) throgh a privatisation process.
• 2013 : Following a tender procedure, Oragroup was selected as a strategic partner of the Banque Ouest Africaine de Développement (BOAD) in the restructuring of Banque Régionale de Solidarité (BRS). Oragroup took 51% stake in the BRS group present in 8 countries of the Union Economique et Monétaire Ouest-Africaine (UEMOA).
• 2014 : Merger between Orabank Togo and Banque Togolaise de Développement / The name of the new company remains Orabank Togo / BRS Banks changed their names and became Orabank except subsidiaries of Benin and Togo, which must be merged with Orabank Benin and Orabank Togo.
• 2015 : Absorption of BRS Benin by Orabank Benin; Absorption of BRS Togo by Orabank Togo.
