The newly created bank, WendKuni Bank International (WBI), opened in Ouagadougou on June 29, 2018, bringing to 14 the number of banks operating in Burkina Faso.
The bank WendKuni Bank International (WBI) is created on the initiative of the Planor Afrique Group of Mr. Apollinaire COMPAORÉ. It has a capital of 12 billion CFA held more than 51% by Planor Group Afrique and Apollinaire COMPAORE. The other shareholders are Burkina Faso insurance companies (SONAR and UAB), the Burkina Faso Producers' Fund (CPB), a Senegalese bank, the Banque Régionale des Marchés and private investors from Burkina Faso.
Mr. Apollinaire COMPAORÉ and Mr. Adama SANFO are respectively Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of WendKuni Bank International (WBI).
The Planor Afrique Group, created in 2004 by Mr. Apollinaire COMPAORE, is active in various sectors : trade (tobacco, consumer goods, cycles and mopeds, tires), petroleum products distribution, finance (banking and insurance) , transport, mobile telephony, hotels, etc.
Mr Adama SANFO is a bank professional. He worked successively at the Banque Internationale du Burkina (BIB) and at the Sahelo-Saharan Bank for Investment and Commerce - Burkina (BSIC-Burkina), before joining the Planor Afrique Group.
